SGCollect is collaborating with UMAS, SISGC and Henderson CC for a Charity Event. For this event SGCollect is asking it's members to donate toys for the children who would be invited for the event. SGCollect had in 2009 also participated in this event with the support of our friends from Simply Toys, who provided the collection point for donated toys at their Plaza Singapura retail outlet.
This is for Children's Party (Charity Event by UMAS, SISGC, and Henderson CC) vent Date: 3rd October 2010
Toy Donation Period: 8th - 20th, 25th to 27th and 1st Oct
Summary from Last years event.
We had the event on 14 Nov 2009 which was a a success. The event started
initially as a Yellow Ribbon Project on building community outreach and
awareness for children. Today, we invite over 250 children from
various local orphanages and homes to join us for a day of fun. The
children will interact with each other through games and activities
(often traditional games and we have a special section on tech games
like WII corner). The toy drive last year was really well received
as the children walked away with really attractive prizes donated from
your members at the game activities.
We had about 250 children from
various local groups that joined us last year and we aim to have a
similar number of children attending. This year's event will be held
at Cairnhill Community Club and we also welcome volunteers to join us
for the day. However given that this is a close door event, we
appreciate public to write to us if they are interested to volunteer for
the event.

SGCollect's committee and moderators would like to thank all members who had supported this event last year 2009. We would also want to thank the management of Simply Toys for making available their retail outlet as the collection point for our members to drop off their toy donations.
