Has anyone played this game already? Heard it's quite bloody & violent & mixed good & bad reviews.
The gameplay seems alike to Gods of War series. Not sure if it's worth to get.

im playing it now....seems alright for me although its abit hard to play sometimes.....and not enough creatures to kill and level up fast....its very progressive...

I played the game liaoz... rather straightforward and extremely gory... some rounds are kinda mind-boggling and you might need some assistance from FAQ to get pass... amongst the stages, there was one that was kinda boring as it was rather repetitive... else, action-packed and worth every cent of your penny...

What's the difference between the 'Divine Edition' & 'Death Edition' of this game? huh.gif

Started the game (X360 version) last night and played it for about three hours and am now in "Greed". Pretty straightforward game, with platforming sequences mixed with hack-and-slash. Some of the platforming are let down by poor camera and dodgy jump controls (too many bloody seemingly-impossible jumps sequences... many are compulsory to do). Game is M18 due to blood, gore, and many frontal shots of tits, including a pair with inverted nipples that spawn mini-babies for you to kill.

Strangely, for all the number of nehs nehs in the game, all the girls' faces look like my grandmother.

Fights are simple, just mutton-mash throughout. You do level up your holy and unholy skills by doing different things in the game, and each set offers various benefits. Boss fights are pretty epic and like most games of this nature, are puzzle-based, i.e., you observe the pattern, react accordingly, and you win. Most of the boss fights requires God of War-style corresponding button-pressing mini-game to win. You also use magic to fight, but this one requires some sort of mana bar to use.

There are lots of collectibles too. Relics, silver coins, statues, and souls to absolve/ punish. Most are easy to find, some are frustrating to get to due to the lousy jump controls, and a few are really well hidden.

There's no autosave. You need to use statues to save games. In between, you get checkpoints if you fail certain parts, but if you quit the game, you'll return to your last saved statue. Frustrating to say the least, since as the game progresses, the distance between save statues are pretty far apart.

Overall, pretty fun game. I even enjoy it more than that super boring Mass Effect 2.

It's a pretty good game, but compared to Darksiders and Bayonetta it's my least favourite (both are more solid games with better play mechanics)....however, I was still hooked on Dante's at first play-through, it was quite fun for the first 3 hours or so

Just waiting for GOWIII to come out and thrash all these, muahahahah!

I find the game kinda boring with the very typical hack , slash style . And like what the bro had said impossible to jump across stage , got to toggle and try jumping and do another jump and later press the RB button to land for the xbox 360 console . And if all is not done properly will just fell off the cliff and die , simple as that and got to start all over again with the jumping style move . Got stuck on that particluar jumping stage for quite awhile , GAME is so so to me although they had mix alot of blood , gore and those especially nice big tits inside the game .

And they should have made dante character in the game slightly bigger abit , at times when battling with the devil somehow dante tends to get lost or i will mix him up with the other demon . Trying to figure out where has the character gone to after receiving a few hit and slash from the devil . Overall , not my style of game compare to ninja gaiden 2 , bayonetta , lost planet and the resident evil 5 game , which i have completed long time ago .

Oh yah , and i currently chuck my dante inferno game aside into my drawer , don't think will be touching it for awhile .

Completed the game. End time 6:57++. Short game I guess. Towards the end of the game, frustrating jumps are much toned down. I read some reviews complaining about the arena-style finale (i.e., the 10 challenges), but I kinda enjoyed it more than those bloody jumps. laugh.gif

The final segment of the final boss fight reminds me of Prince of Persia 3: The Two Thrones, but of course it's a much easier fight.

And, thanks to bro Sideswipe, I managed to do my 20 counter-kills on my second run - I realized I didn't bother to counter at all during my first playthrough.

I also completed the 50 waves of arena fights. End time 27 minutes+! It's a far cry from those 50 waves of Horde Mode in Gears of War 2 and 375 waves of arena battles in Borderlands' 2nd DLC (this one takes days, many days)! I found that most of the enemies (except those with the purple halo above them) can be taken out by simply mashing the Holy Cross. I've maxed out my holy so the cross is the bomb.

I'm now on resurrection mode, trying to max out my unholy to achieve 100% achievements. Looks like this is one of those easy achievements thing.

I read that the DLC has new achievements, so I may just hold on to the game until then.

Overall, feel that the game is a bit of a rip-off at $60+. Should've just grab the normal edition + enjoy the EA Games $8 off thing instead of buying the Death's Edition.

Finz
eh? from what i know, there's no normal edition for this game. either divine or death. and the death edition is the default edition for R3 dante's inferno
super_convoy
There is. The normal ed is $64.90. The death's ed is $69.90. I saw the $64.90 one but didn't buy it. Went back to same shop and they were left with the death's ed. And divine, if I'm not wrong, is a PS3 exclusive. It's like PS3's divine is Xbox 360's death or something. Not entirely sure though.

Finz
but there's no 'normal' edition for the ps3 though. the default for ps3 is the death edition for ps3. the divine edition is the US version if i'm nt mistaken. death is also the europe ps3 special edition. but locally, for the ps3 that is, i think the death edition is the default edition
super_convoy
Ah, ok, that clears it up. Coz I was thinking about $64.90 less $8 and it'd be an ok price. laugh.gif

kryptkiddie
From what I know, there is a normal edition, but most retailers here order in only the death's edition as the price is just slightly more but comes with a lot of extras, hence more worth it. Or it could be locally, the distributor just decide to only bring in the death's edition, not too sure on that.

Supposedly, death's edition is a EU exclusive and divine edition is a US exclusive, so means there should still be a normal edition without all the extras
super_convoy
I'm not keen on gaming extras. The bonus disc I also didn't touch. There's a code inside to redeem some stuff, I also didn't bother. All those artwork thing, I also don't look at. laugh.gif

Finz
actually, for R3, there is not a lot of extras. i did ask around if there is a normal edition, but most shops told me that there's only the death edition. our death edition is different from the europe's one though, we don't get that free dead space costume and no sountrack. we even have to pay for that crappy poet costume online
super_convoy
The Dark Forest DLC is out, with two new achievements to boot. It can be completed in 10 minutes, so whoever actually paid for it (like me) must be feeling a bit ripped off.

Completed this dante's inferno game , ending part where dante was talking to his wife beatrice , the dante's image really looks like the actor "Hugh Jackman" who acted as wolverine in the x men show , especially both are also naked , LOL . This is only part 1 for the game , maybe soon we'll see part 2 coming soon as game story does not ends here .
