I like both the old and new versions. The old, however, died when Lao Zu Zong appeared. It went down hill thereafter. The new one, getting more and more exciting. Not many people appreciates how well the story is developing. The recent snippets of Hei Long trying to escape from Lao Xie Shen's castle was truly inspiring. Funny, exciting and unconventional. The way the story is shaping up, it's giving me more joy than duds like Buddha's Palm (which they should chop chop end).

I think the story in the 70-80s are better..

The new one gettting a bit draggy.... Luckily still got LAO XIE SHEN's palace to spruce things up a bit...

I think that although the drawing skills or graphic & storyline is poorer at that time, the fighting strokes/moves is better illustrated or expressed onto paper. Every moves is clearly illustrated. Cool.................

I like the new series long hu meng also, the storyline is better, more complete and there are more heros..................

aiya the lau zu zong is transferred from the drunken fist mah. I am also sick of him, dun know what he is doing, his story has no fresh and blood one, just turn berserk and always fight, fight, fight..................

I was drooling at the exclusive "Wu Guang" that cost about HK$580. Dunno where can order.

And they're giving out free Tiger Wong's "Star" singlet (red) and Black Dragon's "Scorpion" singet (green)! Vintage! Got to go get the special edition!

I've read some of the old stories and is collecting the new ones. I like both the old and the new storylines. I agree with profchoki to a certain extent that the facial features of the old, might not be as good. But in terms of the detailed fighting strokes/moves and certain aspects of the storyline, the old one still is slightly better.

Fighting styles in the new story are drawn rather 'rigid' and stresses on beautiful poses...Furthurmore the characters are much more powerful now, and their fights are
therefore supposedly swifter, more high impacted and ends faster...

I still have a few vintage Long Hu Men in my collection that I would read once in a while and
enjoy their particular fighting moves and styles. It's like watching a Jackie Chan movie such as Police Story or A Plan....

I dun like the Lao Zu Zong storyline as well. They simply made him too powerful... Simply love the storyline before that; the feud between Tong Tian, Yuan Se, Kuo Fa and Long Hu Quan Yin.

Well, at least the new storyline now is going to the more exciting part in Kai Se Bo...

I love the arc when they took on the gangs in Thailand too. My particular favorite is when the Little Four went to Thailand to help rescue Tiger. Tears in my eyes.

Also, there was this period when Skeleton Minister was trying to takeover the ownership of Tong Tian Sect. So, he secretly plotted the fake deaths of several Long Hu Men members, but used them for his plans. In the end he died, of course.

The current one, getting very exciting. I don't know are they going to get out of Lao Xie Shen's fortress. Jia lat, man. Read already I also sweat for them.

I have no doubts that they'll be able to get out, if not how to continue the story? But the question is how many of them will get out alive? As for the old series, I like it until Lao Zu Zhong appear. I still read the compilation of the old series.

I think Fei Yao and Lao Yao may die, but man, they're some of my favorite characters.

Anyway Tony Wong has already confirmed that they'll get out of that place... and Little Dragon will gather some new skills.

not like last time only a few hero, now is a group of heros against a group of villains. Nice graphics and good storyline, but the kung fu moves not as detail as last time I think!!!!!

Agree. Now, a lot of emphasis of "inner strength".

But it was very nice to see minor roles like Wei Tuo take on more responsibilities, and killing some villains in the process.

Btw, I think it's #167 now. I think lah. Read and read, also forget read until which issue.

But the present storyline of fighting Lao Sie Shen is a bit 'unbalance' as until now the good guys still has no casualties while the bad guys only left 3 standing. I thought all the bad guys are suppose to be super guo shou.

new heros like Wei Tuo are not 'minor' character I think, he is like wang feng lei who are 2nd line main characters.

it is really more exciting and interesting nowadays due to the addition of so many characters.

No, he is not dead, just poisoned. That's why Shi Hei Long sneaked into Lao Xie Shen's fortress to steal the antidote. Fei Yao managed to pass the antidote to the police but I think some of the police is under the bribery of Luo Sha Jiao. Dun know whether it'll reach Shi Tie or not. Until now Shi Tie still has not much exposure, so I guess he won't die so soon.

The antidote will reach Shi Tie. Tony Wong mentioned he will get an upgrade in skills too.

Out of your list I think Wang Feng Lei is my favorite atm. Cool personality with the all so classic Bing Hou Wu Zhong Tian (Ice Fire 5th level ). However, I think you forgot to mention Bai Chou which is my favorite as well, wieidling the awesome 3 jie kuan and embodies the ShaoLin Tong Zi Gong

And I like the Little Four too. When they one by one died (except Bald Star) in the old story, I could feel the pain, really. That I think is very successful characterization.

Yeah like Wang Feng Lei too, turned from bad guy to good guy, his hair like in the water, veri stylo. As for the little four, all of them except Baldy Star died tragically in the old series, wonder will they be kill again in the new series.

Just curious... for those old-timers, from which issue did you start reading the old series?

I can't remember mine, but I think it's 200+ issues, when it was landscape version.I ended up going to Sunny Bookstore and buying a lot of back issues for 50 cents each (those were the days), and got several Little Vagabond issues (terrible condition) in my collection.

A pity I sold/ gave away most of them.

Can't exactly remember when I started reading the old series, but can remember when I was a kid in the 70s my brother used to tikam those HK comics that were rolled up. I began reading Long Hu Men seriously was when in Poly, bought the malaysia printed ones from mama shop, the title was called Big Heroes (Da Ying Xiong). But stopped a long time after going to NS and picked up again when the new series started.

Yeah, remember Wang Xiao Long was killed by the bad guy Chen Ao Yun in the old series. Later they bring in a Wang Xiao Long look alike named Huang Long(crazy dargon) but his skill was really poor, always kenna whack by someone.

As for Xiao Long's death, man that was catastrohpic for me then. Somemore shot dead by modified disco lights. Very sad.

beaten up badly by wang xiao hu, destroy his dan tiao acupoint. he lose all his poison skill and internal strength. Then that scum beg for forgivness while he was being surrounded by the heros such as wang xiao hu, shi hei long, baldly star, nah kong zia, etc. He was let off but later turn around to attack baldy star with his remaining poison, wang xiao hu and shi hei long finish him off.

I still have that comic episode.

Dunno when I got really started as well, but I can recall reading the Little Vagabonds and the death of Wang Xiao Long from old yellow comic pages during my monthly haircut at the barber.
I later started buying 'Big Heros' about the time Wen Shu Tian Zun lose his fight to Yuan Se Men Zu, Man You. My friend gave me some old issues as well during that time, it's about the four big Wu Ling Jia Zu (family).

Sounds like a gruesome death from one of the most memorable villains in Long Hu Men.

Talking about the Four Families (I believe that arc was set in Japan, before the 1st Huo Yun Xie Shen got killed by Hei Long), I wonder will they appear in the new series. It's a very old-fashioned story, but the feel was pretty good. It was the arc that introduced Chen Ao Yun too.

The question now is... can anyone lend me those issues with the Four Families?

the guy name is fong tou tian, he has a female disciple name tia bing who fall for wang xia hu but was rejected. Later this tia bing start to turn evil!!!!

fong tou tian is very powerful when he first appear, he is known as the tian xia ti er(the second in the martial art world) only under Lao Zu Zong. He is always wearing clothing with a phoenix on it. cool sia, but he cut off his private part to learn more powerful skill after losing to lao zu zong. In the end, Yuan Se Men Zu, Man You finish him off!!!!!!!!!!

Oh he's still alive to the very end of the old series. But perished with the others in the final duel against White Lotus clan leader.

Actually in the end, not everybody die. I guess it's up to our own interpretation. Basically there was no ending.

The latest issue of the new series... as expected, a lifeline for the guys. Lao Xie Shen suddenly headache! Damn crap!

Nice to see the legendary Gan Jiang Sword making its debut. In the old series, it was the Sword Devil (Jian Mo) who held this sword. Fans may know that the Sword Devil is the real father of Huo Yun Xie Shen. Wonder will it be the same this time, since the owner of the sword did gave Lao Xie Shen his scar.

And anybody suspect Black Dragon is Lao Xie Shen's son or something? The current "indication" seems to be pointing towards that direction. You know, Long Hu Men can be quite a soap opera at times.

In the latest issue, Lao Xie Shen is finally defeated, but not at the hands of the heores. Would you believe that at the very crucial moment when he's about to kill everybody, he's suddenly render powerless by his old injury!? After so many issues of intense battles, he's finally defeated by headaches! Feel kinda kenna cheated.
