Macross Plus. the black/white VF-11B is probably just a sample, not yet colored.
M7 and M:Frontier toys/models are licensed to Bandai... which to me is kinda
Bandai toys are usually good quality and considerably cheaper due to mass production (except for their recent DX VF-25 very expensive IMO

OTOH, Bandai is just like what Izzyfcuk said - chunky, blocky. Easier for them to manufacture and design. Some people may like blocky designs, in this particular case i think it doesn't work well because fighter planes are supposed to be streamlined with smooth curves, and IMO Yamato does a better job making toys much closer to their original designs (esp in fighter mode).
I can only hope that toy licenses to these 2 series will be released to other manufacturers so that we can have other options, but i think Bandai will demand and continue to hold exclusive licenses...
