im quite happy with bandai's rendition that they catered to the old skool chunky monkey style for the 25, so im hoping that Yamato won't be getting the license for it.

M7 and M:Frontier toys/models are licensed to Bandai... which to me is kinda

Bandai toys are usually good quality and considerably cheaper due to mass production (except for their recent DX VF-25 very expensive IMO )

OTOH, Bandai is just like what Izzyfcuk said - chunky, blocky. Easier for them to manufacture and design. Some people may like blocky designs, in this particular case i think it doesn't work well because fighter planes are supposed to be streamlined with smooth curves, and IMO Yamato does a better job making toys much closer to their original designs (esp in fighter mode).

I can only hope that toy licenses to these 2 series will be released to other manufacturers so that we can have other options, but i think Bandai will demand and continue to hold exclusive licenses...

It'll be bad news if Bandai has the exclusives.... I have the VF-25 both alto and ozama....I am still hoping for the YAMATO versions as these Bandai ones looks a little small and lack the design greatness from yamato.

I agree that Yamato made valkyries are very detailed and look good on display. However, I like Bandai made valkyrie cos it feel more like playing a toy given its weight and durability. I like 1/55 scale especially cos it's the toy I played wif when I was a kid.

Look great! Thought the VF-11 is larger than VF-1? The Battroid stands almost as tall as VF-1. I think the box size will be smaller than YF-21 & YF-19 & thats good news for storage space.

There has been negative reports fm some MW forum members that the heatshield does not lock properly onto the canopy.

Yep.... hope it simply means that there is some trick to doing it correctly.... any news from theHK forums regarding this issue?

It looks good definitely but it seems to lack a little in terms of details, eg panel lines and such.

Yep the lack of panel lines is because the lineart doesn't have it. But as this picture clearly shows, the toy is shorter and fatter than the lineart... maybe to make Battroid mode look better?

Picked up my VF-11B yesterday......my only comment so far is THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS VERY TOUGH TO UNLOCK.

Other than that it's really a very nice piece of model and very well made.
Will post pictures later.

Yeah, also feel that the landing gear, especially the back ones, are real tough to pull down...

put it on a stand and you will never have to yank that landing gear down.
i cant be bothered to open it.

I have the 1/72 (grey) but this white color scheme seems nicer less the future yellowing.
