As per title, new 1/60 VF-1 with improved parts, perfect transformation, no need to detach legs anymore. also with this 2.0 version, it's highly possible that the elintseeker, Super ostrich and VF-1D trainer will materialise

1. DYRL SUPER VF-1A HIKARU, JULY
2. DRYL SUPER VF-1S ROY, AUG

CREDITS - TOM.COM, TOYSDAILY

Deimos
will have see how the valk really is then will decide to collect or not

heard the articulation is better than the 1/48

but if there is 1D, VE and VT haha that will make a lot of fans poorer laugh.gif
Izzyfcuk
im a bit on the fence as well, but think i'll get the 1A first, if it's good, the rest can follow
Malakite
Since I sold off my 1/48s...I'll wait and see after the first release if got any issues hehe. I think i'll get Roy's first...
eming
Yep. I am up for Roy as well.

But all the first releases will be with Fast packs it seems.
flayn80
The best improvement in 1/60 Roy is the head sculpt. No more ugly center partition as in the 1/48's. And the ability to attach a cockpit to it's arm is definitely a plus plus for fans. We can re-enact the classic scene in the TV series.

Sorry guys, I'm bit confuse between tis 1/60 and 1/48.
I know the scale are different but it seems some 1/60 are the same size as 1/48 too rite?

I wanted to get them for so long now but too hesitate to buy due to the scaling and "perfect transformation".

Any kind soul can help me to explain them?

The 1/60s that looks same size as 1/48 are the vf-0 valks. vf-1 (original) are smaller compared to vf-0 valks similar to how f-16s are smaller than f-14 tomcats.

If your concerned about scale, 1/60 is the way to go since Yamato seems to be doing everything in that scale. But make sure you go for the latest 1/60s (Perfect Transformation ans Looks better proportioned compared to the 1/48s)

Guess finally i able to get valks for myself soon.. clap.gif
QEssential
Is this the same thing? http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00078

It says july release.

Or are there 2 versions of the toy? Anime colours in July and DYRL colours in Aug???
artspraken
this is nice. I actually prefer 1/60. its more manageable size.

1/48 is too tua liap....no space to display

but I tell you hor......yamato valkyrie they will sure release every version with different color etc etc, make your wallet burn big whole....

imho, just buy one enough, dont hoard or collect.
wmteoh
So far i only have 1/48 VF-1S Roy Focker with me. But seem like this 1/60 version with fast pack is quite tempting as well.
gee
i prefer hikaru's over roy's.
don't know why? must be
the head.

problem is, the hikaru
looks nice beside roy
so might have to get
both. wallbash.gif

Ha-ha! I'd agree with you. So now tempted to get 1/48 Hikaru version.

It seems there is no ending to Yamato's Macross toyline. The previous 1/60 to me have been quite a disappointment (especially the loose legs). 1/48 is detail, big enough and nice to look at but it's not durable enough as a toy and the plastic material still needed improvement.

I will reserve my comments for the 1/60 perfect transformation. The toy looks pretty nice in the pics. I hope the price is also reasonable. rubchin.gif
ssurfer23
feel like ordering these 2 after seeing the pictures smile.gif
wmteoh
Would like to ask... what's the difference between Bandai and Yamato Macross toys? In term of quality, color scheme, transformation and poseability, which one is better?
mojacko
im planning on getting this w/o the fast packs...but still waiting for the reviews and 1j to come out.....
Crabby_Pattie
its out.. read first if u cant decide if u wan to buy..

1/60 VF-1S Review by Graham at Macrossworld.
Deimos
great review by graham and thanks to mojacko for the review link !
I do hope he dun mind me posting one of his pics from his macrossworld review here tongue.gif

well this VF-1S do look great in a certain way but I just feel the head is a bit small compared to the rest of the body
and the chest piece is sitted to0 far down

rock.gif
shinG
I always prefered American to Japanese toys as I like to fiddle with my toys often. Japanese Toys are usually too beautiful to play around with so they end up boxed or stuck in a display shelf. But reading Graham's review, this sounds like one sturdy piece. Maybe this will be the first yamato-macross toy im getting...
sci70716
Would not touch the 1/60 unless they come out with valks that the 1/48 does not have.

Plus the 1/55 I am buying, enough liow..all same mold one....
Crabby_Pattie
i maybe getting this coz of the tampo prints.. and the in-scale with the valks from Macross+ & Macross 0 and defintely qrau n upcoming destriods! Lols!!!! laugh.gif .
mojacko
havet read the review yet....but judging from the pix....think its really nice...except for the head.....imo the head is to small for its antena....think its a great move by yamato to drive fans attention to the 1/60's again....

great move for them to earn more $$$$ or great move for them to provide us with more more more toys (and less less less storage space)

I wonder

just as I was a sucker for 1/48 laugh.gif

edit : was/still is

wmteoh
I think somehow the fast pack is more tempting than the figure itself. Ha-ha!
Izzyfcuk
ok, i just got this in the afternoon, no time to play around it yet. first impressions below

What i like.

1. This toy is tight, not flimsy at all or area prone to breakage

2. No QC problems as far as i encountered

3. Missles attachment are tight too. not like the 1/48 where sometimes is can be flimsy

4. 1/60 feels just nice as a collectible for me. you can murk around with it. i feel that 1/48 can sometimes feel too static.

5. The "aurora" canopy - cool tint.

What i dont' like

1. No gunpod strap?

Verdict

1. For those who do not collect the 1/48 or any macross toys. this is one that won't disappoint.

Crabby_Pattie
Thanks for head up dude.

Wow! From your little review, this does look like a great piece. But still i'm happy with my 1/48. Ha-ha! But will consider get Hikaru version since i don't have one. rubchin.gif
Izzyfcuk
i think for once, yamato did get it right.....
len_d69
Thanks Izzyfcuk

Anyway, can you comment on the shoulder joint. Found this pic from Macrossworld and its a bit worrying.

mojacko
oooouch!!! that shoulder gonna hurt!!!

I read from a review at Toysdaily that actually 1/60 transformation is similar to 1/48. The difference is the sculpture only which make 1/60 doesn't really stand out against 1/48 in some aspect. Seem like both have their own pro and con.

this is making itchy as well laugh.gif
Izzyfcuk
i say go for it, at least for now

wrt the shoulder thing, it's the same design for the 1/48

The valk itself is tight and the owner probably used too much force. hard vs soft, something's gonna give

And with Yamato's reputation, no wonder ppl tend to put it down as QC prob.

Just be careful and read the instructions carefully, too tight? slowly wriggle around it and you should be ok
wmteoh
Oh! Actually i don't really have any problem transforming my 1/48 VF-1S. Every transformation just go very smoothly even though some connection is too tight to be released. He-he!
ssurfer23
laugh.gif just placed order for both vf
QEssential
Is it out in SG already? OMG!

Check this out: http://gamu-toys.info/goukin/yamato/60vf1s/01.html

Looks really good and transformation looks really similar to the 1/48!

wmteoh
1/60 VF-1S with fast pack is already out a few days ago. M'sia already got. I think Singapore should be faster. He-he!
Izzyfcuk

Nysenra
Damn it u guys. The problem with u guys is that u all take great pictures of the valkries. After i see them, hand itchy.....Thought i can resist, but i guess resistance is fultile....
wmteoh
He-he! Mostly after we look at the picture or real unit, we will get tempted to buy. But somehow we must resist if it's not what we want or not within our budget. Yet most of the time i will still lose control. Ha-ha! duh.gif

Nice pics teo. Seem to observe a gap btw the fuelage area and chest piece when in fighter mode, tried to push them together but the gap reappears. Wonders should i remove the head and check what is causing the problem.
