Fantastic to see new macross mecha

the fighter mode looks fine to me

the battroid mode, especially the head I not too sure.

Thanks for the link.. The new mecha looks pretty cool.. Transformation (from what I could see) kinda reminds me of the YF/VF-19, except the nosecone points downwards and forms the torso instead...

From the link this new series look promising, ya i also hope it will not be like macross zero though I enjoy seeing Roy again.

Not a movie actually, but a 25 episode series, but you will be forgivben for thinking that it was a movie as the quality of the animation is THAT good!

GERWALK mode on the VF-25 is sweet.

I would like to see more of this new "VF-171" as well. which seems heavily based off of the VF-17 Nightmare.

Yeah! At last a new macross series.... was so tired with much zzz to keep talking about the old macross stuffs over and over again 24/7.... now finally a new series is coming! yeah!

It is in space again, really brings back the feel of the original series. Wonder what are the new aliens.... since the aliens, their masters as well as their ancestors are shown and over with.....

I still dont' quite bite the design of the new VF yet. maybe im not that much of a PLUS fan, and that clip showed too little to convince me. nevertheless, im still happy to be getting a new series.....25th anniversary!

i quite like the new plane design, got strong feel of Zero, and the bot mode look like patlabor griffon. However, i'm expecting great toys from this series!! hooray

There are all little pointy bits every to make it look really fancy. If made into a toy we must be really careful, I've stabbed myself with Zero tailfins.

From my analysis, there seems to be a new type of armour system involved.

There seems to be a light FAST Pack system as evidenced by the Hikaru-scheme VF-25 at the beginning of the commercial.

Yet later we have a heavier armoured VF-25.

To generalise, in the Macross Universe as we know it has two types of augumentation systems, GBP Armour and also FAST Packs. GBP provides more armour and weapons, while FAST Packs provide boosters and weapons but no armour.

Look at the new armour system. It would seem that it provides extra armour protection (something that a FAST Pack does not do, but GBP system does) while allowing it to still transform (something that a FAST Pack system will allow, but a GBP one will not) and provide weapons AND boosters.



It would seem to me that there is a new type of augmentation for VFs.

Now it gets exciting. yes, very impressive about the VF-25 protection system. it seems to don the color of yellow GBP as well. the hikaru scheme now looks much better as well.

I'll bet that the designation of the VF-25 is going to be the VF-25 Frontier. No, Teo, I will not wager my entire collection on that one.

Looks like the Low Viz scheme has become popular.

I think it is the blonde guy with glasses with the flashy smile that is going to pilot the VF-25 with the blue stripes that we see transforming in the first trailer.

up till now we haven't really seen the enemy's mecha yet.

what would be surprising would be perhaps of the 2 or 3 mecha we have seen so far, one of them is an anti-UN one.

Cheryl looks hot, although I'm not sure if I want to see nipples in Macross... Then again it IS cold in space... Lanka or whatever her name is looks like jailbait and is probably the Minmay equivalent for this series..

Hi, just found out from this forum that there is a lot of macross series i haven't heard of, the only series i watched was the original macross, robotech and that one where the main character is the girl and she's driving a tank thingy, forgot the title. oh and macross plus, which is just 4 episodes, right?

So can anybody help me with the list of ALL macross series ever shown/created? even those that where discontinued?
can it be stickied also?
I'm thinking of collecting.

I thought Macross F was supposed to be 207x but now ep01 is 2059...

And i don't understand what's the first scene about? is that some sort of 'spirit' effect during a space jump? lol strange

Not quite, I'd think Nekki Basara's custom VF-19 Fire Kai from Macross 7 was the first valk with human like facial features.

Ep01 out! So fast?

Just watched the subbed version. Animation is great, but it's really fast paced so I'd recommend waiting for the HD version... I really like the new valkyrie and the transforming pilot suits!

I feel bad for the poor pilot with the VF-25 in Hikaru's color scheme though... I knew he was dead the moment I saw him piloting that plane...

The animation left me in awe.......

Did any hardcore fans learning the niaoniao dance? or go cheering when sheryl starts singing? lol

Everything else is very up to standard... animation, typical macross story etc
3DCG dogfights really beats 2D version hands down(the asteriod fight)
but how come the characters drawing like so low grade....

they make the scene same as the 1st tv series where hikaru is shooting the enemy from the gerwalk mode during his 1st time piloting

I don't understand the 1st scene also... maybe they are trying to be pioneer and create a new thing for other companies to follow when they are trying to do spacefolds.

just watched this series and i feel it is much better than Macross Zero. next episode wont be so soon..damn..
