Nowadays, the marquee players no pride. Only unknowns take part in the slam dunk competition.

Nonetheless, the Sprite amateur one was amazing. The winner K. Dobbs jumped over 3 people, blindfolded and did a between the legs dunk. Sorta Cedric Ceballos meets Isaiah Rider. ;P

The Slam Dunk contest for the past few years have been pretty boring to me. I always had the impression that as the years go by, they will come up with more interesting and innovative ideas for the dunks but it seems to be getting very uninteresting.

I agreed. ever since they started the fun voting system, it has become a popularity contest and a skills contest.
And have to opportunity to make more then dozen tries dulls the contest.
I still like the old when they only had 1 or 2 tries per dunk.

But yea none the less, the winner of this years competition made a few interesting dunks

Just curious... if not popularity nor skills contest, then what kind of contest do you want?

Ah I see. Anyways all the American 'talent' competitions are turning into popularity contests.

Hopefully Orlando and NY can make it to the semis at least so that I can catch them when I am in the US in may.
