I just played this PS2 Votoms game, and the game was so fun I'm thinking of getting their mechs.
I notice there's Takara & Yamato mainly, Takara uses 1/18 scale while Yamato is on 1/12. The bigger the better but Takara comes with Microman figures I can put inside the mech. Anyone collect Votoms Mech care to give me an idea which series to go for? |

i have a scopedog but only takara ones dmz-05.. takara one is 1/18 but it comes with action fig and the mecha is slighly weathered n some decals already, the joints are quite tight n poseable.. .. the micro man action fig sucks coz of the sculpting n the hands is too big..
im not so sure about the yamato coz i never had one but i read previously from other forums that yamato scope dog is huge and the action fig must buy separately but its definately better than microman.. its not weathered n not decaled.. as for me i prfer the takara ones coz its smaller not much prob with storage. it comes with fig eventhough it sucks but the weathering and decaled made up for that. playabity is good also. -------------------- Testing... 1...2....3

I just did some check on Yamato 1/12 vs Takara 1/18. I notice the Yamato Action Figure is much better looking than Takara Microman but Microman might have better poseability.
One thing I'm very confused is the number of Variants for the Green Votoms for Yamato: 1. 1/12 ATM-09-ST Scopedog 2. 1/12 Scopedog Melquia Regular Force Color 3. 1/12 Scopedog w/Round Mover 4. 1/12 Scopedog Red Shoulder 5. 1/12 ATM-09-STC Strong Bacchus 6. 1/12 ATM-09-RSC Scopedog Red Shoulder Custom 7. 1/12 Scopedog Turbo Custom 8. 1/12 Scopedog Turbo Custom The Last Red Shoulder Set What's the difference between Turbo, Last Red Shoulder and all these variants??? 1/12 ATM-09-ST Scopedog, 1/12 Scopedog Red Shoulder & 1/12 ATM-09-STC Strong Bacchus are on Sale, if I were to get one of these which one should I get? Regarding Yamato, there's a 1/12 Brutishdog + Fyana Double Pack that comes with action figure HLJ. It looks really nice, would be a great gift for girls. i have a scopedog but only takara ones dmz-05.. takara one is 1/18 but it comes with action fig and the mecha is slighly weathered n some decals already, the joints are quite tight n poseable.. .. the micro man action fig sucks coz of the sculpting n the hands is too big.. im not so sure about the yamato coz i never had one but i read previously from other forums that yamato scope dog is huge and the action fig must buy separately but its definately better than microman.. its not weathered n not decaled.. as for me i prfer the takara ones coz its smaller not much prob with storage. it comes with fig eventhough it sucks but the weathering and decaled made up for that. playabity is good also. |

I have the Yamato one and although its well made, it feels too "big". I got the Maxfactory ones also but the sad thing is they can't go into the :dog modes".
In the end I recommend the Bandai 1/20 model kit. Not only is it a decent size, maybe 8-9 inches, its easy to aseemble with no paint required. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Could you confirm that even the older Scopedogs has roller underneath the legs? 1/12 ATM-09-ST Scopedog, 1/12 Scopedog Red Shoulder & 1/12 ATM-09-STC Strong Bacchus The above mentioned are on 50% sale from HLJ but I really want the rollers. Also which one you recon I should get if I can only afford one? The ATM-09-ST is the original Scopedog, Red Shoulder comes with a glossy Red Shoulder Armor and additional Transparent armor for hand & leg (not that fancy), while Bacchus comes with additional Antenna & Eye Scope I think. All 3 of them doesn't come with Spring Punch though. Or can we get it cheaper in Singapore? |

Dude, I can't confirm if all the Yamatos Scopedogs have rollers and I don't know if its cheaper in Singapore. But be careful if you buy from the yahoo auctions or from 2nd hand sellers.

I've been told that all Yamato 1/12 Votoms come with rollers below their feet. Cool! I just finished Votom Game on Sony PS2, they had all the Votom ATs inside the game, with all different equipment. So now I'm more familiar with the mechs. Have to say though the On Sales Votoms are at great price, the exclusion on the accessorries are really not good. I'm looking for the Scopedog Turbo Custom Red Shoulder (with red shoulder armor), comes with rocket launcers, smoke grenade armor launcer, side guns and rifles. HLJ has em but price is S$300 and the shipping is another S$70. Any local shops sell Yamato 1/12 Votoms? |

A few shops in CSC do carry them, one on the first floor and one on the second floor.
I've played with my frens 1/12 yamato ones and i feel that it suffers from the same problem as the 1/48 Macross. The toy feels very light, like there isn't any sense of weight to it and makes you wonder, why the heck does it cost so much lol. Just my personal observation. -------------------- He who will not economize will have to agonize.

I believe its for the engineering. Alot of Asian toy fans have been spoilt by die-cast content in their robot toys. Te beautiful of the Yamato Dogs is that it is "show accurate" in terms of features, one can entirely disassemble the whole toy and even customized it. If I remember correctly, it was highly rated by alot of toy websites when it first made its debut.

High Poseability and great scupture & paint. Abit pricey $50 but much better than Micro man. |

Has anyone bought the 1/48 Takara series? They require little bit of assembly, but I think they look very good, just those cut marks you can see but other than that i think it's a scaled down of the Takara 1/18 series, with extendable arm punches, foot piling, rotating wheels, rotating scopes, Head Armor and cockpit can be opened.
I bought like 12 of them when I saw them at 70% off, original price is $28 per piece. They also have the 3 Last red shoulder in 1 pack and with chopper pack. |
