AWESOME custom! Its been a long time since the craze for Toybiz LOTR and Marvel Legend ended. Gone were the days the thread is active everyday for updates on the figures. I collected figures because of LOTR nothing else. Now my collection is 80% and my display cabinet is full. End of 2012 comes the hobbit I guess will start another LOTR madness collecting frenzy!

Kind of doubt it. Missed the days of S.p.a.w.n.a.s.i.a when they brought in all the LOTR figures and boxsets and you can see the crowd buying all the LOTR stuffs by the horde.

Lego and Middle-Earth Collide!
by johnsnyder on February 17, 2012

Can you imagine building Minas Tirith, Helm’s Deep, or even Hobbiton? Well, now there is no need to keep that imagination concealed. Starting this June, LEGO® will be launching their construction sets based on THE LORD OF THE RINGS™ trilogy. THE HOBBIT™ construction sets will be expected to be in stores closer to The Hobbit movies’ debut.

According to Karen McTier, executive vice president, domestic licensing and worldwide marketing, of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, “Only LEGO, with their expertise in the construction category, is capable of doing justice to the incredibly imaginative environments depicted in the world of THE LORD OF THE RINGS and the two films based on THE HOBBIT.”

Jill Wilfert, vice president of licensing and entertainment for The LEGO Group, said, “Our collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products has delivered numerous worldwide successes in the construction toy aisle….introducing us to loyal audiences who love great stories, strong characters, and the toys that they inspire.” She also states that “it’s particularly exciting to now be able to create sets based on the fantasy worlds and characters from THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy and the two films based on THE HOBBIT, not only because we know they will foster collectability and creative play, but also because these are two properties that our fans have been asking us to create for years.”

Middle-Earth in a box. What could be better? Start planning for the brick-by-brick rendition of Tolkien’s world. Your imagination has only just begun!

Hobbit is also going Lego! I mentioned "also" as I understand Buckbrick bro already posted LOTR box sets pics here!

Some news on The Hobbit toys link

QUOTE
WB hops on Bridge Direct
Lands worldwide master toy, game licensing rights to 'Hobbit' pics
By Marc Graser
'The Hobbit'
The Bridge Direct has landed the worldwide master toy and game licensing rights for Warner Bros.' "The Hobbit" films, helmed by Peter Jackson.
The Boca Raton, Fla.-based company will create action figures, playsets and role-play accessories like swords and battle axes designed around the characters and props in the pics, with the first merchandise to hit store shelves before the Dec. 14, 2012, release of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey." Sequel "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" is skedded for Dec. 13, 2013.

Retail partners will be shown the first line of products in the coming weeks.

While a number of companies were vying for the "Hobbit" deal, Warner Bros. Consumer Products awarded the license to Bridge Direct given that many of its execs and staffers had worked on developing and marketing products tied to New Line's "Lord of the Rings" franchise while at other toymakers including Toy Biz and Play Along. Toys tied to WB's films and TV shows are often produced by Mattel.

Bridge Direct, run by toy biz vet Jay Foreman, is best known for its "Zhu Zhu Pets" line of plush, figures and playsets, "Bobby Jack" toys and novelties, "Busytown" vehicles and playsets and the Justin Bieber dolls.

"Thanks to many of the same creative minds behind 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy products, we're looking forward to unveiling a robust toy line for the two films that captures the excitement of the beloved adventure and delights loyal fans of the series," said Karen McTier, exec VP of domestic licensing and worldwide marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

Good day, fellow members of the SGCollect forum!

Please do see the list below, and contact me at 96354482 or thwching@gmail.com if any of these interests you! Thank you for reading this post!

Sideshow:

Emma Frost Legendary Scale Bust (regular; MIB) - $240

Rougue Exclusive Comiquette (MIB) - $240

Dagger Exclusive Comiquette (MIB) - $250

Baroness Exclusive Premium Format (Original Black Outfit) (MIB) - $460

Diamond Select:

Scarlet Witch statue – Avengers and Advesaries series (MIB) - $100

Emma Frost Modern Statue (Sculpted by Clayburn Moore) (Glued to her base, statue is in excellent condition, and I have the original box and COA) - $240

DC Direct:

Women of the DC Universe Series 1 Catwoman bust (designed by Adam Hughes) - $150

Women of the DC Universe Series 3 Batgirl bust (designed by Amanda Conner) - $120
